I am new to the blogging world, so I will be adding more information about myself and what I am doing as time goes on. See my photo and blurb below for a pinch more information about me. It’s All In The Name
SewCrystalized is a brand all about what it says: Sewing and Crystals. While these two things seem like they might not go together, I ask that you keep an open mind and explore what it has to offer! I have even thought about the depth of meaning on the word combination.
sew /sō/ verb
- to stitch or bring, attach, join, or repair something with needle and thread.
crystalized /krĭs′tə-līzd’/ transitive verb
- to give definite form to an idea, belief or vision.
Together we get this fusion of crystallizing ideas that involves sewing. However, I think working with actual crystals in my craft has brought it a little bit more on the nose. While I cannot fully take credit for coming up with the name (more on this in a minute) I think it is a fun and quirky name that fits the style I’m going for.
How We Got The Brand Name
Also, it is not lost on me that the word “crystalized” is typically spelled with two L’s. In November 2019 I met my now Significant Other and at one time or another I had mentioned that I wanted to start a business. He has a clever way of thinking about these kind of things. He knew from all of my interests that I absolutely love sewing and I had just found my new obsession with crystals not too long before. One day we were texting and he surprised me saying he had come up with a name for my business.
I was immediately excited!! We both loved the name and discussed that there is only one L. He asked if two would be better, but I was already so smitten with the name and to be honest I still love it as it is.
